These custom binding nuts were manufactured using 316 stainless steel material, with 3/8 coarse internal thread tapped as close to the head as possible and a T30 drive cold headed all the way through. The head diameter is 1.13″ head height at .19″ +/- .01″. The shoulder outside diameter is set to .63″ and measures .75″ in length, with both dimensions also limited to a +/-.01″ tolerance. 4340 alloy steel material was also considered as an alternative, offering greater strength when heat treated than the 316 stainless steel material version pictured here.
